    Joy

If ever there was a piece of clothing that embodied joy for me, it would be this skirt. I mean, it’s vintage, it’s twirly, it’s got a quirky but classic print (dandelion fluff?), it’s that irrisistable soft material I love, it’s pleated… I can’t get enough! Joanna from Cut and Chic Vintage sent it to me, and as soon as it arrived I knew it was my soul mate of skirts. So in love. I had forgotten, too, how much I love this time of year. It was 29 degrees out when I took these pictures (I know, crazy pregnant woman in short sleeves, whatever; it was just for pictures),…

    Vampire quality

Do you ever have those days where you feel so confident that you start making tons of faces in your outfit pictures, and end up with several that crack you up? This was one of those days. In half of my pictures, I’m making weird faces. But hey, we’ll just go with it; I generally do laugh and make faces more than acting all serious-fashion-blogger-y in real life. You guys know I’m cool. Haha! Seriously, though, I love this outfit. I felt like a (very pregnant) rockstar-vampire vixen or something. Of course, later when I changed into jeans because it’s getting way too cold for this skirt without tights (which…

    Think Pink

The entire day I wore this outfit, I had “Think Pink” from Funny Face running through my head. I felt SO deliciously girly, and I loved it! Not that I don’t normally dress girly on a day-to-day basis, but there’s just something about having a pink-dominated outfit that makes a girl feel pretty. What’s funny is that when I was little, pink was not my favorite color, and it hasn’t been until the last year or so that I’ve started to really love the girliest of shades. I’ve been watching Extreme Cheapskates lately; does anyone watch that? Some of the people on the show… oh my goodness. I mean, there’s…

    Movie Review: Jane Eyre 2011

Before I delve into the review, let me give you a little background story. Jane Eyre has been my absolute favorite book since I was eight years old. I first read the Young Readers Digest condensed version in a green volume at my grandma’s house, where its pages were stuffed between Captain Horatio Hornblower, My Friend Flicka, and Alone. (None of which I have ever read.) I remember being instantly drawn in to the book; I remember Edward Rochester as the first and only book crush I have ever had (he is the ONLY fictional Edward worth loving in today’s culture, if I may say); I remember wanting to be…

    Instagram Outfits

After taking an inventory of my closet (yes, I do that…) I realized that of the 35 (plus… cuz I bought more like… I shouldn’t have…) skirts in my closet, I wear… oh, probably about ten of them in rotation. Given, some of them are not year-round skirts (wool, or very light summery fabric), but for the most part probably 75% of my skirts are skirts I should be able to wear right now. So I decided to do a 30-days-of challenge that I may actually finish! Skirts are to me what jeans are to most people– comfortable, easy to style, flexible, appropriate for most occasions. I’ve had a…
