    Full Retro

Some days, a girl just has to go full retro. This skirt was in my pile of vintage to sell, but um… it might not be going back in. I originally wore it today just to grab an outfit shot for the shop (feedback from you guys officially says mostly garment-alone pictures, but with one outfit shot to see how it looks on a person), but then, you know… I have a huge weakness for plaid. And the forest green and orange in this is just so pretty. And I haven’t gotten to wear plaid skirts for about a year. And… it’s just so perfect, you guys. Plus, it’s missing…

    Guest Post: Jaime, Petite Panoply

Hello everyone! I’m Jamie and I blog over at Petite Panoply. I’m so excited to be guest posting for Kristina while she’s spending time with her new baby boy! Since all of Kristina’s readers love seeing her awesome outfits, I thought I’d put together an outfit post for you to look at while she’s away. Kristina always does such a nice job styling up her thrift finds and vintage items. I love wearing thrifted/vintage clothes too. Most of the time I’ll add in a modern trend or classic piece to keep the outfit from looking costume-y. (Though sometimes costume-y is the way to go!) The red sweater here was a…

So while Kristina is away cooing over her new baby boy, I’m going to fill in and talk about lumpy, oblong sweaters! Stick with me here. So about once every four months I have these rampant binges in my closet where I close my eyes and tear through the innocent hangers with a vengeance. I usually get the sense that I’m turning into a hoarder-in-training (an entry level one, if you will) when I open my closet, so these type of cut-throat cleanses are totally necessary. And I…

    Dollface

Oh, my goodness, it is COLD. When I took these pictures on Wednesday, I was only outside for about fifteen minutes. But by the time I got done, my fingers were so cold I could barely move them, I had goosebumps all over, and my nose had started to run from the bite of the wind. I absolutely love this weather, though! It’s been so beautifully sunny and frosty, and the world just sparkles every time I go outside! I’m so proud of myself this week for having taken daily pictures. I think participating in Dressember has been really helpful; now, I won’t miss a chance to go out and…

    Put a Belt on It

All day yesterday, while I was writing up the post on how to thrift and date vintage clothing, I had “Put a Ring On It” going through my head, only I was singing “If you liked it then you shoulda put a belt on it!” over and over and over again. I probably said this, but I’ve pretty much decided “Put a belt on it” is my fashion motto. You’ve probably already noticed I belt pretty much everything, and I think belting it is the one thing everyone can do. Whether you belt it high or low, putting a belt on it adds visual interest and usually creates a waist…
