Think Pink

3

The entire day I wore this outfit, I had “Think Pink” from Funny Face running through my head. I felt SO deliciously girly, and I loved it! Not that I don’t normally dress girly on a day-to-day basis, but there’s just something about having a pink-dominated outfit that makes a girl feel pretty.

What’s funny is that when I was little, pink was not my favorite color, and it hasn’t been until the last year or so that I’ve started to really love the girliest of shades.

14I’ve been watching Extreme Cheapskates lately; does anyone watch that? Some of the people on the show… oh my goodness. I mean, there’s being smart with your money and then there’s just… crazy cheap. I think I draw the line at dumpster diving for food, only flushing the toilet once a week, and not using toilet paper.

But then there are the people who are cheap in different ways, such as bartering via offering a skill or talent in return for what they want, or doing a “fiscal fast” where they don’t spend any money at all for one week five times a year… and those people, you can learn from.

Mostly, it’s just weird and entertaining to see how people are cheap in different ways. The extremes people will go to to save money!

Today I am determined to be really productive. I’ve got grocery shopping to do, dishes to wash, a work shift to get done, and laundry to do. And I really want to get it all done today, or it’ll just piddle out into the rest of the week and I’ll never have a clean house.

It’s funny because people tell me I’m pregnant and I shouldn’t worry too much about how clean my house is, but they have NO idea what a relief it is to have a clean space! My mother-in-law understands; until the house is tidy, I don’t feel like I have the right to relax and not worry about anything. Plus, it’s so much less stressful to live in a clean house.

Yesterday I had the worst emotional day ever (too much junk food over the weekend+pregnancy=so many emotions!), and even though I felt sick and cried over everything (seriously, asking my husband how many eggs he wanted overwhelmed me), I didn’t start to feel better until I had completely cleaned our bedroom. And that 20 minutes of cleaning seriously helped SO much.

I received this shirt and necklace from Oasap after a long period of impatient waiting (due to the holiday season coming up their shipping time is slower now), and it was SO worth the wait! I absolutely love both items. The shirt is a really nice light material, and it’s super soft, long enough to cover my belly, and fits… right now. Haha! I’m sure it won’t fit in another week or two, because my belly is growing at a crazy rate now. But I will get all the wear I can out of it until it no longer fits!

I also absolutely adore the pattern; I’ve always loved peacocks, and of course flowers, and the colors are to die for. Love.

And the necklace… I admit, I’ve worn it with pretty much everything this weekend. It’s the perfect size, goes with everything, and it’s got that retro flair I really love. Plus, it’s adjustable. Which is the best.

So I sort of skipped 43 inches in belly growth, and seemingly went straight from 42 to 44 inches around in a week. Which would explain the soreness in my lower abdomen. I’m expecting to get a bit more miserable from here on out, because I’ve just been sore all over (another thing nobody tells you: you start to constantly feel like you’ve ridden a bike for too long because your ligaments are stretching to prepare), but so far the soreness has been the only bad thing.

And that’s totally why I waddle now. Haha!

I am so glad I kept this skirt; pre pregnancy, it was way too big for me. But hey, things that don’t fit you regularly TOTALLY work while you’re pregnant!

That’s what I’ve been trying to get across to a few pregnant friends of mine, that they don’t have to limit themselves to maternity clothes while pregnant. Nothing I’m wearing is maternity, and I rarely buy actual maternity clothes because if you size up and buy empire waist, longer lengths, or extra stretchy garments they don’t NEED to be maternity clothes to fit. Except pants. Regular pants don’t work for pregnant people.

Ughhh how is it that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR OUTFITS IS PERFECT. I love that headband! It’s such a cute touch to the look, as is the necklace. I am obsessed in the pattern on that blouse.

The print on that shirt is crazy fun.

And uh, flushing the toilet ONCE A WEEK? That’s just… ew… I just had breakfast… eww. I’m so glad I don’t have that show because I know I’d just get sucked into it despite being grossed out (or precisely because of that.)

I think you just feel better with an organized, clean space surrounding you. I know exactly what you mean! I get more studying done when my apartment is clean. (Or at least clean-ish).

You look so so cute here. I love that you’re wearing pretty much all non-maternity clothes. This skirt is wonderful on you and looks perfect with your new top. I’ve always liked pink . It’s such a bright, fun color!

P.S. Your belly is getting so big! You look adorable!

I absolutely love this outfit!! SO much! The print, colors, style, everything! So much fun. I get the whole house cleaning thing– personally, I get ‘spring cleaning’ fever in the fall. The thought of hibernating in a dusty, dirty, cluttered house all winter is just icky. Hope your day went well and you got lots accomplished!

I’m the same way… I can’t truly relax unless I’ve cleaned up. Although having a baby has made me more relaxed- hey, I’m a mom first and babies don’t keep. 🙂 Your blouse is darling! Every picture of you reminds me how un-cute I dressed while pregnant. I promise to do better next time… And I haven’t watched the show yet but I had just added it to my queue the other day… I know what I’m watching tonight 😉

you look SO cute here! and I love how you will try various different styles instead of the same ole pregnant girl style of a big shirt and leggings or a dress. I have to be honest and say that I don’t know how creative I would be with my outfits if I were carrying another human in me! also, your comment about the eggs overwhelming you cracked me up. I feel that way sometimes and I’m not even pregnant. it’s super fun being an emotional irrational woman huh?!

oh and i agree, a clean house is more relaxing to me.

This might be one of my favorite outfits you’ve ever posted. I love that shirt so much! I also love how you’ve been wearing head scarfs in the past few posts-adorable!
James and I have been watching Extreme Cheapskates, too! These people are NUTS. Some of the things they do…it’s just so entertaining to watch. But, there are definitely some useful tips to glean from them.
Looking lovely & adorably pregnant as usual! 🙂
