Demure

I don’t know what it is about this outfit, but something about it made me feel very demure, like a schoolteacher or a librarian. Which is funny, because the top 1/3rd of this dress in the back is sheer lace.  Not exactly demure, even with a camisole underneath.

I’m very excited about finally having a blog shop (Fancy Feathers, click if you missed yesterday’s post!)– more so than I thought I would be. So far, finding and using old outfit pictures has worked very well to display the clothes I’m clearing out of my closet. And while I have a little sadness for a few of the things I’m getting rid of (oh, floral dress, I love you…), I’ve already  made a sale and it’s kind of fun to pack something up and send it off.

So hopefully the store endeavor goes well. I’m not much of a salesperson, so it feels a little weird to advertise to buy clothes from me, but y’know. I guess it’s not a terrible thing.

I really don’t have much else to say. It’s rainy today, I’m only fifteen minutes away from leaving for work, I’m eating bacon for breakfast… and my coffee is getting cold.

I really should work on being either cleverer, or more interesting. Or both.

Because the fact that I microwaved my bacon and am eating it from a bowl is just not exciting.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Last night I was talking with a friend of mine that I’ve gotten hooked on your blog (yup, that’s me. Spreading the Mara coolness) and she was like where does she get those cool shoes that lace up? And I’m like I DUNNO BUT I LOVE THEM EVEN MORE THAN I LOVE HER. Except I didn’t quite shout…ok, I kind of did. And it’s a non-creepy love. More of an admiration. More of I’m just going to sit here and bask in the glow of your awesomeness and ability to match your clothes, a talent I don’t really possess. So moral of the story is everyone loves those shoes and…that’s all I’ve got. Just wanted to let you know.

Oh and bacon in a bowl sounds like the best breakfast ever. I had some blueberry flax seed stuff I found in the depths of our basement…my parents obviously don’t love me.

Hahaha! Awww! You’re pretty great. 😀 I WISH I knew where these shoes came from, because I really want more like them. But Goodwill is the best answer I can give you. Sigh.

Bahaha! I’m sure your parents love you (maybe…?)

You can try taking a photo of the shoes and uploading it to google.

It will try to match the photo by pixels.

Mmm bacon. And out of a bowl? Oh, yeah. Who needs plates anyway?

I love the lace on the back of the top. I have a thing for clothes with bits of lace on them, aka I adore them.

And I was about to be like, hey, it’s not Thursday, it’s Tuesday. Then I realized, yeah… I must have skipped a day mentally.

Bowls are better, I think. 😀 And spoons, but most people look at me weird when I say that.

Me, too! I have been searching for more lacy clothes, because I really love how feminine they are!
I would probably have thought you were right for a second. I’m always forgetting what day it is.

Bacon is the present of God to us, it’s delicious even out of bowls! 😛 Congrats for the shop! Hope it goes great! As for the look, I totally love the light in these pictures, and also the color of the skirt! You’re indeed looking demure! And the shoes are the cutest <3 Also, I just wanted to say that I like so much your hair, it's growing! <3

IT so is the present of God! I love bacon a lot. 😀
Thank you! I really like the light in these picures, too. We usually don’t take outfit pictures this late in the day, so the lighting was a nice little bonus.
Thank you! It feels a bit longer now, finally!

First of all, that breakfast sounds delicious.  Much better than the bag of baked cheetos I had.  In my defense, it was a snack-sized bag, but still.  Gross.  Secondly, I LOVE this outfit.  I wish I could pull off something like this, but sadly midi lengths make me look stumpy.  Can’t be helped, unless I have leg-lengthening surgery, which I suppose is always an option…

So this morning… I had Cheetos for breakfast. And not even the healthier baked ones. Jalapeno  ones. I have no defense. 😀

Thank you! Y’know, if you wear the skirt at your natural waist, it does make your legs look longer. And heels always help. 😀 (Leg lengthening surgery would be painful! Hah!)

I think the silhouette and color scheme are what make the outfit seem demure. Plus white lace is pretty demure too. Either way, it’s lovely.

I miss bacon. We don’t have it here in Vietnam.

    • Mara

Probably. This skirt in particular always makes me feel very demure. 🙂

Ah, sad! I would die if I couldn’t eat bacon! (okay, maybe not. I just felt like being dramatic.)
