    Homeschooler Style

There is something about this outfit that very much reminds me of Amy Flying a Kite. Perhaps because of the longer skirt length, the of-the-woods feel to the colors, the slightly unruly hair (to me, used to straight hair), and the whimsy that comes with headscarves and unusual prints on skirts. I don’t know exactly what it is, but the entire thing feels very Amy. Perhaps it’s also because these glasses, newly received from Firmoo, feel a bit homeschooler-ish to me, and Amy has a (very charming) homey vibe in her posts. (And she was/is, in fact, home-schooled.) I’m sure many of you know this by now, if you’ve read…

    30 Days of Skirts

Happy Saturday! I was cleaning out my closet last month, and noticed that I have a ton of skirts I never put into rotation. And then I counted my skirts and realized I have… well… probably around 40… So I challenged myself to wear skirts for 30 days straight without repeating. Here they all are, in their glory: There are a few in the mix that I’ll be selling soon enough, some that I’ve clung to for too long that I don’t really know how to style but can’t bear to part with, and… a lot of plaid woolen beauties. I love a good plaid skirt. Which is your favorite?…

    Instagram Outfits

After taking an inventory of my closet (yes, I do that…) I realized that of the 35 (plus… cuz I bought more like… I shouldn’t have…) skirts in my closet, I wear… oh, probably about ten of them in rotation. Given, some of them are not year-round skirts (wool, or very light summery fabric), but for the most part probably 75% of my skirts are skirts I should be able to wear right now. So I decided to do a 30-days-of challenge that I may actually finish! Skirts are to me what jeans are to most people– comfortable, easy to style, flexible, appropriate for most occasions. I’ve had a…

    Closet cleaning

So today, I’m cleaning out my closet to sell a few skirts I no longer wear, but why is it so hard??? I’m starting to get all sentimental about these skirts. Three of them, I’ve only ever worn once so I’m not that attached– other than thinking “Oh, but what if someday I need the skirt again?” But this one skirt… I don’t know, I’ve wore it a ton last year, but I haven’t worn it…. for almost a year. And I realize it’s not the most flattering skirt on me, and the pattern is not my kind of pattern at all, and it’s shorter than I’d like it to be……
