I thought I should write y’all a short update on life right now, if you care enough to wonder why I haven’t updated Fiction Press or written any blogs for a week and a half. I got back from New Mexico, where the weather hated me and I got heat exhaustion not once, but three times. While I was there, I visited Old Town Albuquerque, went to a lot of thrift stores (Albuquerque has the best ones!), got my nails done, and spent a lot of time prostrate on the bathroom floor hoping not to puke. Pretty Food
I cooked Moroccan food today. Chicken Soup with Couscous. It was amazing. Grated tomatoes (ha!), fresh mint, (!!! from our back yard!), a cinnamon stick, parsley, cilantro, paprika, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper. FRESH MINT!!! I looove it. The spices again. They were pretty. I couldn’t help it. Spices and the cookbook at a wonky angle. It was much prettier before I added all the spices. The… er… spices again. What? They were pretty. I went shopping today; I needed to spend the $50 dollar Target gift card someone gave me for my birthday, and after watching What Not To Wear and browsing a few fashion blogs, I decided to up and go see if Target had any good shirts or accessories. I bought two dresses on my birthday, so I sort of banned myself from buying more. I have enough dresses. And… since I very much adore the things I bought- this shirt in particular- I thought I’d do a little fashion post. I Like To Cut Things Up.
Amongst the other changes I’ve made recently- you know, eating healthy and all that- I’ve decided not to use my internet for anything but my Bible reading posts on Saturdays and Sundays. Why? Because I realized recently that there are days that go by where I do not put my computer down. All day. (Except to get some coffee.) And I was pretty much wasting my day doing absolutely nothing. Okay, seriously. Is this cat not the most gorgeous and enormous cat ever? I love him. He sits on your lap and it’s just like *squish*. You’d think most of the bulk would be his fur, but no. It’s fat. He’s fat. He’s at least three times as heavy as my cat, five times as furry, and much, much more cuddly. I absolutely adore him. I wish we’d been able to keep him.
